Verbes Réfléchis

The Verbes Réfléchis are verbs that you use to talk about something you do to yourself.

Possesive Pronouns:

 

Je - me

Tu - te

Il/Elle - se

Nous - nous

Vous - vous

Ils/Elles - se

 

You must always put a possesive pronoun before a reflective verb.

 

Examples:

 

Je me lève

Tu te lève

Il/Elle se lève

Nous nous lève

Vous vous lève

Ils/Elles lève

 

Verbs You Should Know!

 

- s'amuser - To have fun

- se baigner - To bathe

- se brosser - To brush (one's teeth)

*Note, when using se brosser you don't need to say " Je me brosser mes dents" it is already known that when you use "se brosser" it is about somebodys teeth

- se calmer - To calm down

- se casser - To break

- se coiffer - To style hair

- se coucher - To go to bed

- se dépêcher - To hurry

- se doucher - To shower

- s'endormir - To fall asleep

- s'ennuyer - To get bored

- se fâcher - To get angry

- s'habiller - To get dressed

- se déshabiller - To get undressed

- se laver - To wash (one's hands or face)

- se lever - To get up

- se maquiller - To put on (Usually used for makeup)

- se peigner - To comb (one's hair)

- se préparer - To prepare

- se raser - To shave

- se réveiller - To wake up

- se vétir - to get dressed

 

These are the verbs you need to know for FSF1DT.

"se" will not always be the possesive pronoun used, it can be replaced with me, te, nous, or vous.

 

Negative

 

Verbes Réfléchis always stick together even in the negative.

 

When you want to use Reflective Verbs in the negative you just put ne and pas around the verb.

 

Example: Je me leve - Je ne me leve pas

 

NEVER put ne between the (me, te, se, nous, vous) and the verb. They always have to be next to each other.

 

Examples:

 

- Je ne m'endorms pas

- Tu ne te baignes pas

- Il/Elle ne s'ennuyie pas

- Nous ne nous dépêchons pas

- Vous ne vous lavez pas

- Ils/Elles ne se lèvent pas
